What are the advantages of my medical records being online?
Online medical records can be accessed 24 hours a day by you and your doctors or, if necessary by emergency responders.
Does MEDFILE go against medical confidentiality?
No. It is information you are putting there. It is there because you want it to be there! You can see Med File as the modern version of a paper health information card you put in your wallet or a medical amulet you wear around wrist or neck.
What if my Doctor is not “cooperative”?
Since legally they are your records, your doctor is required by law to provide you your records. In any case MedFile does not compete with your Doctors or his software; it is mend to work as supplement.

Since legally they are your records, your doctor is required by law to provide you your records. In any case MedFile does not compete with your Doctors or his software; it is mend to work as supplement.
How do my medical records get into my Med File?
After signup you will be given a personal password, login and pin.
With this you will be able to fill out standard questionnaires, write comments and upload existing documents and images.
We strongly recommend that you do this together with your doctor.
How do I update my MedFile’s records after visiting the doctor?
Go to the “My Med File” Page and after entering Login, Password and Pin you can update and upload any files. That way you'll have an up-to-date record of your most current health condition.
Can I include images to my MedFile?
Yes, you can upload any kinds of Medical documents you want.
Can I include insurance or health related policy numbers in my MedFile?
Yes, there is a special box to do so.
Can I include other documents in my MedFile?
Yes, MedFile is prepared to include among others important Life Documents such as:
Living Will, Organ Donation Form, Medical Authorization to Treat a Minor, Healthcare Durable Power of Attorney, Last Will…
Can I erase my file?
Yes.

How does an emergency responder access my files in time of need?
- Your MedFile cards include a secure login and password so emergency responders can view your file online.
- To save even more time:
- In “My MedFile” you can print the most vital info needed to save your life (in credit card format). Keep this printout together with your card.
- Carry ALL your files downloading your complete MedFile in a USB memory pen.
- Note that with the secure login and password on your card your records can only be reviewed –not changed. To add, delete or change anything, your personal PIN is needed. Keep it private!
Do emergency personnel need special access or subscription to MedFile in order to view my records?
No.
How will my family or loved ones be notified in case of emergency?
Emergency personnel can use the information in your MedFile to contact them.

Are my records safe in Med File?
At Med File we receive, transmit and store all your personal data by secure socket layer.
Furthermore your files are protected, secure, backed-up and always available to you or an emergency medical provider.
Files that are stored at your doctor's office are vulnerable to destruction from a fire or other natural disasters - a life long medical record could be destroyed in seconds!
What happens if my card is lost or stolen?
Go to the contact form and send us a mail. We will give you a new login and password and send you a new card too.

Can I view my records from any computer in the world?
As long as the computer has Internet access, or a USB connection to enter your offline version of Medfile, yes.
What are the computer requirements to use Med File online medical records?
As nobody knows where and when an emergency will occur, we have made sure that any standard computer with internet access can be used to read your file.
